Brimington Comedy Night: Big Laughs, Twice a Year!

What a night! On Saturday 20th September, Brimington saw nearly 200 people pack in for a proper night of stand-up – and what a lineup it was. We’re still buzzing from having legends like Mick Ferry, Sol Bernstein, and Tom Wrigglesworth bring the house down. The atmosphere was electric, the laughs were non-stop, and the feedback we’ve had since has been incredible.

So here’s the good news: we’re not stopping there. Off the back of that fantastic night, we’re launching Brimington Comedy Club – a dedicated, ticketed comedy night right in the heart of the village. And the plan? One huge comedy event every 6 months, bringing you the very best acts from the UK circuit (and beyond).

This isn’t just another “gig in the back room of a pub.” This is Brimington’s very own comedy club – professional lineups, proper production, and a crowd that knows how to laugh.

The whole audience was in stitches…

Our opening night on Saturday 20th September was a belter:

  • Mick Ferry – A true powerhouse of British stand-up, Mick brought the house down with his razor-sharp observations and brilliantly daft tangents. Whether riffing on everyday life or diving into absurdity, he had the audience roaring from start to finish.

  • Sol Bernstein – The world’s oldest living Jewish comedian (and legend of the circuit), Sol strutted onto the stage with his trademark mix of old-school showbiz swagger and killer one-liners. Equal parts grouchy and loveable, he had the crowd doubled over with every punchline.

  • Tom Wrigglesworth – Effortlessly charming, endlessly relatable, and one of the best storytelling comics in the country. With his warm Yorkshire tones and hilarious tales, Tom spun everyday situations into laugh-out-loud gold, leaving the room grinning from ear to ear.

  • Mike Gunn – Sharp, clever, and hilariously unpredictable. Mike’s observations on everyday life hit harder than most comedians, leaving audiences laughing long after the punchline lands.
  • Shazia Mirza – Bold, brilliant, and unapologetically funny. Shazia blends razor-sharp wit with fearless storytelling that tackles the absurdities of life, culture, and everything in between.
  • Roger Monkhouse – A comedy powerhouse with a razor-sharp tongue and infectious energy. Roger’s storytelling and perfectly timed punchlines will have the room roaring from start to finish.

Tickets are just £16, doors open at 7pm, and the laughter kicks off at 8pm.
