Lovely. Here is how it works.
Simple, fair, and only slightly more organised than most comedians’ sock drawers.
Quick Tip Register First
You need to register via the quick registration form to apply for open slots. Once registered, you can view your past applications, track and accept offers, or get alerts when new open slots appear that suit you. It’s basically the organised comedian upgrade and far more reliable than your memory after a late show.
Pick Your Playground
Apply for the open slot you genuinely want using the listing form. Make sure your details and clips are correct because we do actually review them.
Old Venue, Fresh Faces
Do not apply for a venue if you have performed there within six months of the date of the event. Let us know if you have performed at another venue in the same area within the six months preceding the event. We may still book you but honesty helps us plan a balanced lineup.
Know Your Level
Only apply for slots you genuinely think you are at the level for. Consider the slot type, fee amount, set time, and venue before applying. Be selective and do not just apply for everything.
Sealing the Deal
We review every application and will email you if you are successful. Your offer will include set length, fee if applicable, date, time, and venue. When you accept we will confirm your place on the lineup. If LaffaCake Comedy cancels within seven days (7) proceeding the event, you are entitled to request 50 percent (50%) of the agreed fee.
Smile for the Camera
By performing at a LaffaCake Comedy event you agree that we may take photos and short video clips for marketing and social media. We aim to show the audience response without giving away your best punchlines. We don’t give away any of your material, we aim to capture the big audience laughs youre sure to get! Occasionally we may ask you to avoid specific sensitive or local topics due to venue or event needs

We receive a high volume of applications and take time to review.

Apply for slots that match your level and style.

Keep applying good comedy deserves a chance.
Sometimes you do not hear back straight away, and that does not mean you have done anything wrong. There may be reasons why you have not heard back!
Tossing Your Joke Into the Void
Sometimes we get so many applications it takes time to get through them all. Patience is key and we promise to get to every application eventually.
Fit and Selection
You may have applied for multiple slots, slots above your level, or slots that do not quite fit your style. We have to be selective to keep shows balanced and successful.
Repeat Performers
If you recently performed at the same venue or nearby we may wait before booking you again. We love repeat performers but we aim to keep shows fresh.
Timing is Everything
Sometimes it is just a matter of timing or fit. Not hearing from us is not a reflection on your talent. Keep an eye on future listings, apply selectively, be honest about your level, and do not be discouraged we will get round to you.

Fast and Furious Payments
Payments are made within seven days of receiving a valid invoice. Most of the time we pay in full within hours. Ask our previous performers they can vouch for us.
Oops, Extra Cash
If you are overpaid or paid twice you agree to return any extra funds. Invoices should be accurate and sent to accounts@laffacake.com or via another method if instructed.
Your Secrets are Safe
Your personal details including real name, bank details, and address are kept secure. We do not share them with anyone and your secrets are safe.
Clear and Above Board
By submitting an invoice and accepting payment you confirm all information is correct. We do not make deductions beyond what is agreed. Payments are fast, reliable, and fully transparent but we still like to keep a sense of humour.
